Thomas Erikson is a Swedish behavioral expert, lecturer, and bestselling author. He is best known for his Surrounded by series, which began with the international phenomenon Surrounded by Idiots (2014). The series applies his simplified DISC-based behavioral model (the four colors: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue) to various life and interpersonal challenges.

Surrounded by Narcissists, published in 2020 (English translation 2022), is the fifth book in the series. It focuses specifically on narcissism—not just the clinical diagnosis, but the spectrum of self-centered, attention-seeking, and empathy-deficient behaviors that many people encounter in daily life. Erikson argues that narcissistic traits exist on a continuum, and that understanding these traits—both in others and in ourselves—is essential for healthy relationships.
