Great expectations

 The novel is the thirteenth by Charles Dickens and is a coming-of-age story, or Bildungsroman, that depicts the education and life of an orphan nicknamed Pip. The story begins with a young Pip encountering an escaped convict in a graveyard, which sets in motion a series of events that will change his life forever. Themes explored include wealth and poverty, love and rejection, and the impact of social class on relationships.
