Hare and the Princess by Nyambura Mpesha

The story centers on a Princess who is searching for a husband who possesses true cleverness and wisdom. To test the suitors, she sets a seemingly impossible task: the man must be able to drink a bowl of hot, boiling water.

Many men—young and old, rich and poor—attempt the feat but fail due to the danger of the boiling water. Then comes the Hare (a common trickster figure in African folklore). The Hare, known for his wits, uses a clever trick to cool the water and successfully passes the challenge. The Princess, acknowledging his superior wisdom, accepts and marries him.
