Passing strange

The novel centers on the character Karen DeSonne, who has always "passed" as a normal American teenager. After her suicide, she returns as a "differently biotic" (a zombie) and must continue to pass as alive. The story explores her life, her struggles with life and death, and the challenges faced by the undead community as they deal with discrimination and a high-profile murder hoax staged by anti-zombie zealots.
