The eae, the eye and the arm

Set in Zimbabwe in the year 2194, the novel is a children's science fiction story with strong themes of Afrofuturism. It follows the three sheltered children of General Matsika, Zimbabwe's Chief of Security, who escape their fortified household out of boredom and are subsequently kidnapped. Three detectives—known as the Ear, the Eye, and the Arm—are hired to track them down in the technologically advanced and crime-infested capital city. The story is a Newbery Honor book, combining elements of African myths, legends, and speculative technology.
