???? Key Features and Advanced Functions
The L009UiGS-RM is built on a modern dual-core 800MHz ARM CPU, making it up to four times faster than its predecessor, the RB2011 . This new architecture unlocks several key features:
· Superior Performance: It handles routing, complex firewall rules, and IPsec hardware encryption with ease. The IPsec hardware acceleration ensures lower CPU usage, achieving around 60-90 Mbps throughput without performance degradation .
· Container Support: The ARM CPU and USB 3.0 port enable container projects. You can run applications like a Pi-hole ad-blocker or even Home Assistant directly on the router to monitor CCTV and sensors .
· High-Speed Connectivity: While it has 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports, it includes an SFP cage that supports 2.5 Gigabit connectivity for high-speed fiber or DAC links, offering flexibility beyond standard Gigabit .
· Durable Design: Housed in a red, finned aluminum case that acts as a passive heatsink, it's rated for extreme temperatures from -40°C to 70°C .
⚙️ Intelligent Hardware Architecture
MikroTik has optimized the internal design to prevent bottlenecks. It uses a Marvell Peridot switch chip which provides a 2.5 Gigabit full-duplex connection to the CPU for ports Ether2 through Ether8. The first port (Ether1) has its own dedicated Gigabit link to the CPU, allowing for complex configurations without slowdowns .
