Tecno Camon 40 Premier

The Tecno Camon 40 Premier is a mild refresh compared to its predecessor. Which isn't necessarily bad, given that we really liked the Camon 30 Premier.

The most notable upgrades are the design and chipset. The Dimensity 8200 has been swapped out for a more recent and powerful Dimensity 8350, while the body takes a more conventional shape. The two-tone appearance is still here, and the available colors are Emerald Lake Green and Galaxy Black.

Spec-wise, the display is roughly the same but with few notable changes. The screen is now 6.67", down from 6.77", but it supports a higher 144Hz refresh rate. Features like 10-bit color depth and HDR are here as well.

We are also happy to see the quad 50MP camera system on board once again. We've got three 50MP shooters on the back with different focal lengths and a fourth one on the front, which is PDAF-enabled too. This is a rare finding in this price bracket.

The primary, big 50MP 1/1.56" is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide shooter.

All that hardware draws power from a marginally bigger-than-before 5,100 mAh cell that supports 70W fast charging.
