To measure the current, you need to clamp the meter around one of the wires and not the whole power cord.

Automatic Shutdown

If there is no operation in 15 minutes, the meter will beep 3 times, indicating for Auto Power Off; with, with no further operation in 30 seconds, the meter beeps again and automatically shuts down.
