Betamethasone+Salicylic Acid Mediven-S Ointment is used to treat dry, scaly skin conditions. Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that helps to reduce swelling, itching and redness. Salicylic acid belongs to the class of components as aspirin called salicylates. Mediven Cream is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. This also provides short-term relief of inflammation of moderate to severe corticosteroid-responsive dermatosis. It also relieves the associated symptoms including redness, itching and swelling of the skin. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Some possible side effects that may occur by using this lotion include eczema, itch, burning, irritation, etc. It should be used with caution in pregnant mothers and breastfeeding women. Do not use this lotion if you have a known allergy to it.
