Its a combination of medicines used to prevent infection of HIV virus to a person who has got into contact with someone else's blood whom they don't know their HIV status like through sharp objects or through penetrative sex (contact with body fluids). PEP contains 3 medicines, namely Dolutegravir 50mg, Lamivudine 300mg, and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate 300mg.
This combination of medicines in PEP one must start taking them within 72hrs after exposure strictly. The earlier one starts the better.
